Everyone has dreamed of a super-powerful sports car. But reaching the point when you can actually afford one, you often find yourself in the backseat and realize that comfort is what you really need. With the Executive version of Porsche Panamera you can have both.
The model is stretched by 5.9 inches (15cm), adding more space for the rear passengers. Not that the standard Panamera rear seat isn’t comfortable, but the Executive version gives you the chance to stretch out and feel special. Space is not all you get on the back seat. There is an interior-lighting package and a large center console that Porsche says is designed specifically for the rear compartment. Thermal- and noise-insulated windows with privacy glazing help to keep the chauffeured suitably removed from reality.
It is hard to imagine how someone would buy a Porsche and choose the back seat. The answer is simple – if you are going to be chauffeured around in a car, why not make it a Porsche? And more importantly – the Panamera Executive gives you both options. You can look all important and successful stepping out the back door for a business event. And you can send the chauffeur home, take the wheel and step on the gas.
The Executive have all power extras of the standard Panamera: two turbochargers to the engine to generate 50 extra horsepower, bringing the total to a huge 570 horsepower; the special exhaust system that lets you hear all those horses; the innovative Panamera air suspension, which combines excellent ride comfort and typical Porsche driving properties. Just like the standard issue, stretched Executive edition is good for a top speed of 192 mph (280km/h). It is only down by two-tenths in the quarter-mile, running it in 12 seconds to the standard Turbo S’s 11.8. Using launch control, Porsche claims a 0-to-60-mph time of 3.6 seconds regardless of wheelbase length.
Porsche said it best: “With the new Panamera Executive models, we’ve extended the sports car feel.”
