The Danish designer Henrik Fisker officially unveiled his new all-electric luxury seadan, dubbed EMotion, after releasing a few teasers over the past few days.
Previously, Fisker worked as a design director at Aston Martin. Than he became famous with Fisker Automotive, which five years ago released the Karma – a five-door plug-in hybrid. However, Fisker lost $30 Million worth of cars in Hurricane Sandy in 2012 and its insurer refused to payout on the destroyed models.
Fisker Inc. has recently tweeted some images of the EMotion,an electric car with a theoretical 400 mile range and 161 mph top speed. The name of the upcoming new electric vehicle, EMotion, comes from a smart wordplay between “Emotion” and “Motion”. Fisker claims the EMotion will cost about the same price as the Model S which means something between $68,500 and $150,000.
Obviuosly, Fisker is aiming to beat Elon Musk in his own game with superior battery technology. Fisker has developed a innovative battery technology using graphene which is much better than Tesla’s lithium-ion batteries. The graphene batteries have been developed by Fisker Nanotech, a joint venture between Fisker Inc. and Nanotech Energy.
The Emotion will feature a low profile and and quite aggressive looking front fascia, curved windshield. The Emotion will use hardware that will allow fully autonomous driving. The hardware will be provided by an as-yet undisclosed partner.
The vehicle will debut in mid 2017 when the first deliveries will start. Emotion will be produced in an existing facility in the USA.
