Vatican withdraws misspelled medals

The Vatican recalled a series of commemorative medals after it was discovered that Jesus’s name had been misspelled as “Lesus” Around 6,000 of the gold, silver and bronzed medals, featuring the Pope’s motto on his coat of arms, were created by the Italian State Mint.

What seems to be just a typo for some people could be taken for blasphemy by others. The medals had to be a call for celebration, now they could easily become a cause for scandal. The most interesting fact is that at least four pieces were sold before anyone even noticed the mistake. Imagine all the hand they’ve gone through, catholic hand, and no one saw “LESUS”. That would definitely have someone fired.

Fortunately many people on the Internet already made all this a joke. “What would Lesus do?” and “Why God invented spell-check?” are just some recent tweets. Another interesting side of the story is that collector are already predicting that the sold medals’ prize will jump really high as they are unique. So the question is: If you managed to get one of those medals, are you cursed or really, really lucky?
