What’s hot at this year’s New York Auto Show?
2015 New York International Auto Show has fast become a top-tier event for car manufacturers to reveal their new products. With more than 1,000 vehicles on display at 950,000 square feet of space, the 2015 New York Auto Show has seen a great selection of brand new models from leading car manufacturers, such as McLaren, Honda, Jaguar and Porsche and there is plenty more to see from other companies. 2015 is apparently shaping up to be a stellar year for new cars and this year’s New York Show was certainly a packed one. However, some cars have received more attention than others.
Honda Civic Concept
The Civic is a top seller in almost every country it is offered. “This is the return of the sporty Civic”, officials from the company said at the model’s launch on April 1. With this coupe concept, in bright lime green, a sportier look with a longer hood, Honda proved it can still excite. The 2016 Civic will boast a new turbo engine and high-tech features such as automated cruise control and lane keeping assistance system.
2016 McLaren 570S
The 570S is the first of McLaren’s new Sports Series of cars. The model is the lowest-priced McLaren starting at $200,000. The company’s twin-turbo 3,8-liter V8 engine can produce 562 horsepower enabling the lightweight car to go from 0 to 60 in just 3.2 seconds and top out at 204 mph.
Lincoln Continental
Officially announced just a few days ahead of 2015 New York Auto Show, the new Lincoln Continental gracefully walks the line between throwback charm and modern design. The new concept gets of course all kinds of high tech gadgets. It will be powered by a 3.5 liter Ecoboost V-6 engine with full leather interior: the steering wheel, dashboard and seats are all covered with high class, ultra durable leather. Although criticized as having too many similarities with Bentley Flying Spur, the new Lincoln Continental concept is a car that explodes with elegance and top of the class performance.
Porsche Boxster Spyder
With 375 horsepower produced by a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine which is14% more than a Boxster GTS, and strict weight-cutting: it will weigh 66 pounds less, this new super car will be the most powerful Boxster ever and the lightest in the range. The new Porsche sprints 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and the prices start from $82,000.
Aston Martin Vulcan
The Aston Martin Vulcan might by one of the most beautiful creations to ever emerge at the 2015 New York International Auto Show. Unfortunately, only 24 of the vehicles will be manufactured which makes seeing one of them on the road practically impossible. The prices start at $2.8 million.
There’s a huge amount of carbon fiber, both inside and outside. The Aston Martin Vulcan comes with a 7.0-liter V12 engine, hooked up to a six-speed sequential gearbox, and promises to extract over 800 horsepower from it. The model features antilock carbon-ceramic brakes and traction control.
The design is just as attractive. The styling looks futuristic and at the same time it takes the lines from Aston Martins of the last decade. The British brand seems will reinterpret this look for its future models and there’s still hope that we will see inspiration of it on the road in the nearest years.
