Study Shows Majority of Americans Afraid to Ride in Self-Driving Vehicles

Three out of four U.S. drivers are afraid to ride in an autonomous vehicle, found an AAA’s survey of 1,800 drivers. Seventy-five percent of Americans report feeling “afraid” to ride in a self-driving car and only twenty percent would trust a driverless vehicle. Despite this significant fear, drivers who own cars equipped with semi-autonomous systems are 76 percent more likely to trust the advanced technology than those that do not own such vehicles, suggesting that gaining experience in using these features can ease consumer fears. Matt LeBlanc to Join Top Gear as Co-presenter

522px-Matt_LeBlanc_2010Former Friends star Matt LeBlanc was announced as the surprise new co-host of Top Gear as he will join Chris Evans when the motor show returns to BBC Two in May.The news has become one of the best kept secrets in TV history.

In an official statementreleased on Thursday, the BBC said Matt would join production immediately and that additional Top Gear cast members would be confirmed shortly.

It is the first time the BBC One show will have a non-British host in its 39-year history. Progress Eagle: Futuristic Solar-Powered Airplane Concept

According to its creator, Oscar Vinals, designer and aviation enthusiast from Barcelona, Spain, Progress Eagle is the future of flight. Aiming for high performance and low environmental impact, Oscar Vinals succeeded to create an environmentally friendly, futuristic-looking plane, incorporating ideas from Quantum Mechanics.

Rather than relying on traditional fossil fuels, Progress Eagle would rely on six hydrogen engines to lift the aircraft off the ground. Powered by electrical turbo fans, the plane would generate its energy through solar and wind generators.
