Mercedes Unveils a Stunning Electric Maybach Concept

Mercedes has just unveiled a stunning electric Maybach concept that will rival Tesla.

Mercedes-Benz unveiled a new electric car concept on Thursday evening at Pebble Beach, in California. The luxury electric car, dubbed the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6, is the latest of Maybach line.

The concept was showed off in a bright shade of red. Named for its 6-meter length, which is about 18 feet, the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 is reportedly meant to show what a high-end Mercedes-Benz will look like in 10 or 15 years time.

The model features gullwing doors which are a Mercedes hallmark. The concept has an extremely distinctive look with its enourmous sleek hood, low roof line, 24-inch rims, dual rear window and rear-positioned passenger compartment. Continue reading →

Joshua Neally, a 37-year-old attorney in Springfield, Missouri claims his Tesla Model X helped saved his life by taking him to the hospital during a life-threatening emergency.

Uber to Merge With Local Rival in 36bn Deal

Uber Technologies Inc. is swapping its China operations for a big stake in its sworn enemy Didi Chuxing. The two companies announced the deal yesterday.

Didi would acquire Uber China in a $35 billion deal and the new company‘s estimated worth is a combination of Didi’s $28 bn and Uber China’s $7bn. The deal will end an expensive price war and is likely to allow the companies to raise prices and become profitable. Continue reading →

AG-600 – World’s Largest Amphibious Aircraft – Made in China

China has unveiled the world’s largest amphibious aircraft, China’s official news agency announced.

The state-owned aircraft maker Aviation Industry Corporation of China completed production of a massive amphibious aircraft, dubbed the AG600. The aircraft rolled off production line in the southern port city of Zhuhai on July 23. Beijin plans to use the aircraft to fight forest fires and perform marine rescue missions. Continue reading →

Facebook’s Internet Drone Completes First Test Flight

Facebook Inc said Thursday it had completed a successful test flight of a drone that will broadcast high-speed Internet.

Dubbed Aquilla, the solar-powered, internet-beaming drone is a milestone in the company’s mission to provide internet access to every corner of the planet.

After two years of engineering and testing, the light-weight drone flew at a few thousand feet for 96 minutes, more than three times longer than the company originally planned. The team initially hoped the drone would fly for 30 minutes, said in an interview Yael Maguire, Facebook’s engineering director and head of its Connectivity Lab. Continue reading →

Mercedes’ Autonomous Future Bus on the Streets of Amsterdam

Mercedes-Benz has just unveiled its latest creation.

Called the Future Bus, the vehicle is equipped with self-driving technology adapted for city use. The German automaker did more than just unveil the first autonomous city bus, it tested it in a real-life traffic situation. The Future Bus made a 12-mile trip from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol to the nearby town Haarlem.

The bus is based on technology in the company’s self-driving truck and uses the latest autonomous driving system called CityPilot. Like Highway Pilot, the system used in Daimler’s autonomous Actros truck, City Pilot, enables buses to drive semi-autonomously in specially marked bus lanes with a speed of 42 mph. A driver is needed on board to monitor the self-driving system that can be deactivated by a slight steer or touch of the break pedal, so Mercedes’ technology won’t put bus drivers out of work. Another Tesla Crashes While Autopilot Activated

A Southfield art gallery owner told police that his 2016 Tesla Model X was on autopilot when it crashed into concrete divider and rolled over on the Pennsylvania Turnpike last week.

Albert Scaglione, founder and CEO of a gallery in Southfield and his artist son-in-law, Tim Yanke, both survived a crash near the town of Bedford, about 100 miles east of Pittsburgh. Continue reading →

Man Sues Tesla Over Issues with his Model X

A Northern California man has recently filed a Lemon Law claim against Tesla, stating his car is unsafe to drive.

Barrett Lyon, a 38 year old Internet enterpreneur, claimed the car maker must refund him $161,970 because his electric SUV has safety and feature flaws that can’t be fixed. California-based automaker has reportedly reached a settlement with Barrett Lyon and accepted to take back the vehicle under California’s so-called “Lemon Law”. Continue reading →

The New Porsche Panamera is the World’s Fastest Diesel Car

Porsche says the new Panamera 4S Diesel is the world’s fastest road car.

The Porsche Panamera has been around for more than 5 years. The four-door hatchback underwent a face lifting over three years ago. However, the new Panamera, officially revealed at a lavish event in Berlin, Germany, is an all-new model. The German auto giant took wraps off the second generation Panamera, which combines a high performance sports car with the comfort of a luxury saloon. The 2017 Panamera has being systematically improved, as Porsche says, redeveloped and designed “to the last detail.” The four-door sports coupe features a new design, engines and technologies. Larger and more aggressive looking, the design of the new model isn’t dramatically different- the car has still distinctively recognisable Panamera styling, but finally pretty. Continue reading →
