Airbus Wants to Make a Flying Taxi Fleet

Tesla Motors is taking autopilot to the next level and claims its cars will be the safest on the road. Only a few days ago, Tesla announced a major upgrade to its Autopilot system that comes with features like automatic steering, lane changing and braking. The most notable improvement is the shift from the primary role of the camera for the Autopilot to the use of radar as a primary control sensor. This new starring role of the radar could have likely prevented the fatal crash that happened in a Tesla car earlier this year while the driver was using the automated driving technology, said Musk in a press release. Chinese Researchers Hack Tesla Model S From 12 Miles Away. Tesla Fixes Security

772px-Tesla_Motors_Model_S-1_close-upHackers from China were able to remotely take over the breaking system, door locks and other electronic features of a Tesla Model S. They posted a demonstration video showing that their attack works either while the vehicle is parked or being driven.

The team of researchers from Keen Security Lab, a Chinese technology company, includes Samuel LV, Ling Liu, Wen Lu and Sen Nie. The hackers had passed the details of the vulnerabilities to Tesla Motors before making the hack public. The researchers took over the systems of both the Tesla Model S P85 and Model 75D. Mercedes Launches New Electric Brand – EQ Along With SUV Concept

The name EQ stands for “Electric Intelligence”, according to the German automaker that has also revealed a new concept all-electric SUV. The vehicle, called Generation EQ, is “based on an architecture developed specifically for battery-electric models.”

Human Drivers Soon Banned From The Roads

In a proposal revealed a few days ago, advocates for autonomous vehicles call for driver-free zones in congested city centers. The first car-pool lane banned for human motorists will be a 150-mile stretch of Interstate 5 which is between Vancouver and Seattle.

Model S Fatal Crash in the Netherlands- Autopilot Not Engaged

Giugiaro to Develop Techrules GT96 – the 1,030 hp Chinese Supercar

After his resignation from Italdesign, Giorgetto Giugiaro sold his company to Volkswagen Group. He has recently started a new set up, GFG Projetti, along with his son Fabrizio.

Giorgetto and his son are among the most famous automobile designers in the world. Giorgetto was responsible for the design of icons such as the Ferrari 250 Berlinetta Bertone, the Maserati Bora and BMW M1. He founded his company Italdesign in 1968 and had been running it for 48 yers when in 2015 the Volkswagen group bought him out. Continue reading →
