The AWWA-QG Progress Eagle is a three-deck, zero-carbo-emissions super jumbo plane concept. According to its creator, Oscar Vinals, designer and aviation enthusiast from Barcelona, Spain, Progress Eagle is the future of flight. Aiming for high performance and low environmental impact, Oscar Vinals succeeded to create an environmentally friendly, futuristic-looking plane, incorporating ideas from Quantum Mechanics.
Rather than relying on traditional fossil fuels, Progress Eagle would rely on six hydrogen engines to lift the aircraft off the ground. Powered by electrical turbo fans, the plane would generate its energy through solar and wind generators. This allows the aircraft to be self-sufficient, with zero contaminant emissions.The aircraft would be fitted with a rear engine and solar panels on the roof and wings.
The best aspect of the plane, according Vinalis would be its capacity to generate all necessary energy to feed its engines. It would be 75 per cent quieter than today’s planes.
Furthermore, Progress Eagle will even be able to help clear the atmosphere through its CO2 cleaner system, installed at the rear part of this airplane, and hydrogen system generator, both ensuring a positive impact on the environment.
The body of the plane is made of carbon fiber, ceramic, aluminum, titanium, and other lightweight materials. The ultra-slim wings, designed in the shape of double arrows, are foldable when the plane is parked in the airport to reduce space needed.
This concept airplane has seating capacity of 800 passengers allocated in 3 decks- that’s nearly 270 more passengers than the largest aircraft today could handle.
The first deck features panoramic sky view with premium amenities, the second deck is for Business class luxuries, and the last deck is economy class. The cockpit is located on the second deck. It has special crew member’s room including beds, coffee station, and work’s area.
Vinals predicts that his remarkable plane concept could be implemented by 2030.
